Auctions MONDAY, 9th OCTOBER. PUBLIC SALE. OF LAND AT THE HTJTT. IMPORTANT NOTICE. To Gentlemen engaged in Mercantile Pursuit! Tradesmen, Mechanics, and Others, in want OF CHOICE BUILDING SITES In one of the most healthy Suburbs of Wei lington, within four minutes’ walk of th Lower Hutt Railway Station and Valen tine’s Hotel. Messrs, bethune & hunter hav. the pleasure to announce that they havi been instructed to sell by public auction a their Rooms, Customhouse-quay, on Monday 9th October, at 2 o’clock, the Township o: ALICETOWN, consisting of about 195 of th( choicest and most convenient building allotments that have ever before been offered to tin Public of Wellington. The terms upon which the Sections will be sold are most liberal, as the proprietors have determined to sell without reserve. Intending purchasers are therefore recommended not te lose an opportunity of securing desirable anc healthy building sites, free from all City Rate and Taxes. The Auctioneers feel it unnecessary to re mind the public of the rapidly increasing valu of Building Allotments near the Railway station at the Lower Hutt, where the Go vernment workshops are in course of erection and fast approaching completion, where som hundreds of mechanics will be employed. I must therefore be evident that as an invest meut the property to be offered is well worthy of attention. It is understood that the Go vernment intend to put on early and lat trains as settlement at the Hutt increases which must tend to more than double and treble the values of such sites. The land situated in the township is held under the Land Transfer Act, and the terms upon which it will be sold are—one-third oi the purchase money in cash, the balance by bills in three equal sums drawn, at 6, 12, and 18 months respectively, bearing interest at seven per cent, per annum, with the right reserved for any purchasers desiring to complete their title to retire bills under full rebate at any time during their currency. The sale plan is now on view at the auctioneer’s office, where it can be inspected. Lithographic plans can also be procured, and any further information regarding the township obtained. Mr. N. Valentine, of the Lower Hutt, will furnish plans and particulars to any visitors on any day before the sale ; and there can be little doubt that Alicetown will before long become one of the fashionable suburbs near Wellington, as Richmond is to London and St. Hilda to Melbourne.
