The steamer Kiwi got away for Castle Point and Napier at 2.15 p.m. yesterday. The £.s. Alhambra sailed for Melbourne via the South at 1 p.m. yesterday. The steamer Wellington left for Southern ports yesterday at 10.30 a.m. The brigantine Sarah Pile should now be drawing close to this port. She left Melbourne about the 6th irist., with a full cargo of merchandise. The ship Waikato shifted from No. 6 berth at the wharf into No. 4 yesterday morning. The schooner Oreti sailed for Wanganui yesterday with a large cargo of railway material, transhipped from the Midlothian. The steamer Manawata, for Wanganui, left here esterday afternoon with a full general cargo and a arse number of passengers. The s.s. Tui, Captain Bonner, left Foxton at 8 a.m. yesterday; crossed the bar at 8.45. Experienced light southerly wind till arrival here at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon. She will return to Foxton to-day. The steamer Stormbird, Captain Holmes, left Wanganni at 10.30 a.m. yesterday; crossed the bar at 11.15. Experienced head sea to Kapiti, thence light S.E. wind till arrival here at 11.15 last night. Passed the Manawatu off Terawiti. She will sail for Wanganui this afternoon. The Paciflc Mail Company's steamer City of Sydney will arrive here from Lyttelton and fort Chalmers to-morrow morning. She will sail for Napier, Auckland, Kamlavau, Honolulu, and San Francisco, taking the outward mail the same day. The s.s. Taupo will arrive here this morning from Southern ports. She will sail for the North at 2 p.m. to-morrow. The ketch Falcon, from Blenheim, arrived here yesterday morning. Mr. .K. i'earce'H topsail schooner Marmion is now iD Lyttelton discharging a cargo of 64,000 ft. timber from Kaipara. She left there on the 12th instant, -where she had been windbound for a week. Had fair wind to Cape Egmont; from there as far as Stephens Island baffling winds and dirty weather. On Thursday last a strong southerly wind sprang up, the barometer reading as low as 28'92, arid the vessel had to run to Guard Bay, -where she anchored till Friday ; thence till arrival in Lyttelton on Sunday last variable winds. We mentioned some time ago that Mr. Fulton had purchased the brig Woodlark, of Newcastle, to be used in this port as a coalhulk. Concerning her we learn from a Newcastle paper that she left there on the lstinstant in charge of Captain TticharJs, with a coal for Wellington, and got an offing of about 120 miles, witli a good westerly wind. It then hauled into the south and the ship worked a little. The strain caused her to leak in the topsides. and observing this, the captain very wisely put about and returned to port on the 4th instant for repairs. The Woodlark has been laid up for some considerable time, and that no doubt accounts for her leaiting. The s.s. Matau, Captain TJrquhart, left Lyttelton on the 19th at 7.30 p.m.; arrived at Kaikoura yesterday at 0 a.m ; landed cargo and malls and proceeded North at 8 a.m.; passed Cape Campbell at 1.15 p.m., made "Pcncanw light at 5 p.m., and arrived at the Queen's Wharf at 5.45 p.m.; experienced light N.E. breeze throughout. She brought, besides passengers for this port nineteen diggers en'route for the West Coast gold fields. She will sail for Nelson, AVestport, Clreymouth and Hokitlka to-day. The ship Zealandia was towed up from the powder ground yesterday morning by the steamer Moa, and took np No. 6 berth at the wharf, whore she will eommenca the discbarge of her cargo this morning. We are pleased to state that the schooner Theresa, Captain Bissett, which left hero for Wanganui with a cargo of railway iron over a month ago, has at last been seen. Captain Bonner, of the steamer Tui, re-

ports speaking her on his way down from Foxton yesterday at the north side of Kapiti Island, whither probably she had run to repair damages. Messrs. McMeckan, Blackwood, and Co. s steamer Arawata. Captain Underwood, arrived here from Melbourne via Southern ports at 9 o'clock yesterday morning. She brought to this port from Melbourne about 10 tons cargo, and from Southern ports 60 tons. The following is her report:—Left Melbourne at 3 p.m. on the 11th inst.; had fresh N.W. winds and line weather until she was close up to the land, when it came on very thick, and passed the Solander without sighting it, arriving at the Bluff at C. 30 a.m. on the lBch: shipped 5S(i sacks of wheat for Wellington, and left at 5.30 p.m. same day; had light winds and very thick weather along tho coast, and arrived off Otago Heads at 4.30 a.m. on the 17th; waited until the fog lifted, and then ran up the harbor. Left Port Chalmers at 4 p.m. on the 18th, and arrived at Lyttelton at 9 a.m. on the 19th; left again at 5.30 p.m., and arrived at Wellington as above. We have to thank Mr. Miller, purser, for files and report. The Arawata sailed for Nelson at 10 o clock last night.
