(per press agency.) Auckland, Monday. The Nymphe sighted the Lyttelton schooner Seabird, which was sent to the Chatham Islands to search for the missing schooner Agnes. The Seabird was off Napier, shaping for Auckland. The New Zealand insurances on the Dandenong were :—South British, £IOOO ; New Zealand, £IOOO ; National, £SOO. The Paparoa settlers passed resolutions condemning the delay in the Kaipara railway ; urging the alteration of route in the proposed extension of telegraphs ; condemned the Counties Bill; and censured Sir B. Douglas, member for Marsden, for voting against separation. The Otamae settlers also met re telegraph route, and confirmed the Wairoa resolution. The schooner Canterbury has arrived from New Caledonia and Norfolk Island. The trade of the former place is very quiet, and the nickel mines are almost at a standstill owing to unfavorable advices received regarding the ore sent Home. Twenty miners left here by the barque Stag, under agreement for twelve months ; if any more should think of trying their luck, they would be unable to obtain work. At Norfolk Island everything is quiet. The whaling season had so tar proved successful, five good sized whales having been caught.

Dunedin, Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell go to Wellington to' morrow.

Roberta beat Weston on Saturday. Weston only scored 109. Roberts scored 1000 in one hour and two minutes, or twelve minutes shorter time than it has ever been done before. The highest breaks were 376, 223, and 176, chiefly by spot strokes. Two stacks of hay were destroyed yesterday by fire. Insured in the Standard for £IOO. Nesbitt plays Mansen for £IOO to-morrow night.
