NEW ZEALAND STATISTICS OF 1875.

(From the annual Blue Book.) / WOOL EXPORTED. The total quantity of wool exported in 1875

was 54,401,5401b5., against 46,848,7351b5. in 1874 —an increase of 7,552,8051b5. The real increase or decrease in the wool production is better estimated by taking the season’s clip as represented by the exports for the twelve months terminating on the 30th September, These exports for the last' five’ years were as follows ; Year ending 30th September. Ibs. 1871 .. 1872 .. 40,376,539 1873 43,233,470 1874 ' 47,424,832 1575 .. ... .. .. 49,942,143 So that the actual production of wool for 1874-5 was 2,517,2661b5. more than in the former year, the production having in four years increased by 14,005,4971b5., or nearly 39 per cent.

VALUE OF EXPORTS TO DIPEPRKNT COUNTRIES. Of the exports, the produce of the colony to different countries, those from Dunedin were greatest in value, amounting to £1,706,244 ; Lyttelton ranked next in the value of its exports, -which amounted to £1,209,617 ; those from Auckland amounted to £595,223, and from Wellington to £497,898. Of the total exports the largest were to the United Kingdom, amounting to £4,227,760 ; the exports to Victoria amounted to £1,124,657, including gold to the value of £802,617 ; the exports to New South Wales amounted to £225,105, of which the gold amounted to £36,529, The exports to the .United States .amounted to £93,236, and the exports to the Pacific Islands reached the sum of £167,284, —this amount .includes £16,030 for exports to the Ladrane Islands,—an increase on the >—■—«/■ port trade to those islands in 1874 of £52,834,. or 97 per cent. The exports to Fiji increased from £5737 in 1874, to £32,169 in 1875. FINANCIAL ACCUMULATION AND PRODUCTION. Revenue. —The Customs revenue in 1875 amounted to £1,234,967, against £1,188,948 in 1874, being an increase of £46,019, or 3*87 per cent. The ordinary revenue, as above given,, includes ordinary provincial revenue. The territorial , revenue in 1875 amounted to £688,722. The incidental receipts and reimbursements amounted to £77,972, thus making the general total of' the revenue—ordinary, territorial, and incidental — £2,813,928.
