The schooner Herald arrivedhere at 3 p.m. yesterday. She is from Timaru, and left that port on Thursday. She experienced head winds for the first few days ; afterwards fair wind till arrival. The steamer "Matau will leave here this evening for Kaikoura and Lyttelton. The s.s. Eingarooma will leave here for Melbourne via the South this afternoon. The s.s. Eangatlra left the wharf for Napier and Poverty Bay at 5 p.m. yesterday. The barque Malay arrived at Newcastle from this port on Monday. She left here on the 10th inst. The p.s. Manawatu sailed for Wanganui at 10 o’clock last night. The s.s. Stonnbird, Captain Doile, left Wanganui at 3 p.m. on Monday, crossed the bar at 3.45, and arrived here at 3.30 yesterday. Experienced light variable winds with heavy westerly swell to Mana, thence till arrival smooth water. She will leave here for Wanganui at 2 o’clock this afternoon. The steamer Taupo will arrive here from the South to-morrow forenoon. She will sail North at 1 p.m. The ketch Falcon, Fisk master, from Blenheim, arrived here yesterday morning at 8 o’clock. She left Blenheim the previous day, and had fine weather till arrival. At noon yesterday Captain Fisk saw the topsail schooner Young Lick and the Oreti clearing out of Cloudy Bay. The Young Lick left here for Hobarton on Thursday last, and the Oreti also sailed from this port for Wanganui with railway iron on the same day.
