The Royal Mail steamer Zealandia will arrive here from Lyttelton between 7 and S o'clock this morning, having left there at 5.30 p.m. yesterday. Captain Halliday, the harbormaster, vesterday received a telegram from Captain Ferries, to the effect that he wished to have No. 1 berth at the wharf clear, as he intended to bring his vessel alongside. No doubt this magnificent steamer will receive a large number of admiring visitors during the day. She will sail for Napier, Auckland, Kandavau," Honolulu, and'Frisco during the afternoon. Messrs. McMeckan, Blackwood, and Co. s fine steamer Arawata, Captain Underwood, arrived in harbor at 8.50 last night, after making the trip from here to Nelson and back in a few minutes over 22 hours, thus excelling all her previous efforts by an hour. She left here at 10.45 p.m. on the 23rd, and arrived at Nelson at 10 a.m, yesterday ; left again at nnon, and arrived here as above. She will sail for Melbourne, calling at Lyttelton, Port Chalmers, and Bluff, this afternoon, taking the outward Suez mail. The ship Horsa and the barque John Knox, which left here on Wednesday afternoon, the former for San Francisco and the latter for Lyttelton, brought up in Worser Bay. They got under way yesterday morning, and cleared the Heads at 10 a.m. Yesterday being a slack day on the wharf, a number of men were engaged in washing it down, and removing the dirt which had collected between the cross timbers. The steamer Clyde sailed for Rangitikei yesterday afternoon at 3.30. ... The fore-and-aft schooner Amaranth arrived here yesterday afternoon from Picton, with a cargo of timber. She left Picton on Tuesday last, and had fine weather across. The schooner Young Dick took her departure for Hobarton yesterday afternoon in ballast. The barque Anne Melhuish, Captain Chadwick, arrived here yesterday afternoon from Newcastle with a cargo of 500 tons coal for Captain Williams.
