Cargill, Gibbs, and Co. have received the following cablegram, dated London, July 29:—The attendance of home and foreign buyers afc the wool sales has increased. Competition is animated. Prices show an average of fully one penny advance compared with the lowest rates of the present series. The rise is now pronounced for New Zealand fleeces. The date of commencement of the next series is not yet fixed.

“ AUCKLAND, Thursday. The Loan and Mercantile Agency have the following further particulars by cablegram:—Though wool sales opened at an average decline of 2d. to 3d. on the last sales, they closed at an average improvement of id. to Id. on the last sale prices. The sales comprise about 400,000 bales; of which about 11,000 have been sent to the manufacturing districts direct. There is a moderate demand on French account, but the. German demand is dull. The prospectsjfor the next sales are improving. The tallow market is quiet, mutton at 425., beef 40a. ; New Zealand wheat, 50s. per496lbs. * ■'
