OFFENSIVE PLAGIARISM.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sir, —X have no-objection to a journalist’s borrowing wit (provided he acknowledges its source), in order to make up for his own dullness, but I do think that ’ihe meanest and most utterly contemptible thJfigunder the sun is to find some clodhopper who has been pitchforked into the ranks of journalism coolly appropriating the wit of others, and publishing it as his own. In an evening paper of yesterday is a funny paragraph re the new Sultan of Turkey, printed as original, but unblushingly taken from the writings of the well known “ Town Crier ” of the San Francisco Netcs Letter , Comment is needless. —I am, &c., HoNEScr.
