LOWRY BAY ESTATE, WELLINGTON. MR. R. J. DUNCAN is instructed by Messrs. Benjamin Smith and Co., to offer for sale by public auction, at his salerooms, Lambton-quay, Wellington, on Monday, the 7th of August, at 2 o’clock— That well-known Government Domain, the Lowry Bay Estate, now in the occupation of his Excellency the Marquis of Normanby. The property consists of 560 acres, more or less, part of which consists of rich level land, and the remainder of well-wooded hills, containing a large amount of useful timber. The buildings comprise a well-built sixroomed house, a handsome lodge of four rooms, a two-roomed laundry, stables, and all necessary outbuildings, a large garden and orchard ; also, a cottage close by the entrance to the estate. The estate has a frontage to the Wainuiomata road, as well as to the beach road; would advantageously cut up into farms ; and, as a picturesque and salubrious seaside residence (within half an hour’s drive of the Hutt Railway Station) and easily accessible by water), it cannot be excelled. The advahtages the property offers for public recreation grounds are attested by the fact that it has for years been the resort, under special permission from his Excellency, of very large numbers on all holiday occasions.
