THEATRE ROYAL.
." —-—y Considering the boisterous state of the weather- there was an excellent house at the Theatre Royal last. night; when the fine comedy of "David Garrick" was produced for the last night with great. success, Mr. Bates,- if possible, exceeding his previous performance of Garrick, and Mrs. Bates being charming as Ida Ingot. The burlesque of " The Invisible Prince" which, for Wellington, has had a wonderful run, was again played, and evoked immense applause, Mrs. Bates' Don Leander being a magnificent piece of burlesque acting, and she was most .ably supported by Mi - . Oily Deering as Abricotina, in which character he infused a great deal of amusement. Messrs. Howard, Stoneham, Alexander, Sweeney, and Holloway supported [most efficiently. For this evening there is another great treat to be offered to the amusement seekers, the celebrated domestic pathetic drama "East Lynne," with Mrs. Bates in the dual characters of Lady Isabel and Madame Vine, will be played; and a rare treat may be expected. Miss Lizzie Morgan (Wellington's favorite), who has arrived from Sydney under engagement to the Bates-Howard Dramatic Company, will make her reappearance in the character of Barbara Hare, and will as a finale to the evening's amusement sing "The Lullaby," a new song, sung in Sydney by the celebrated Emmett to immense houses with greats success. Miss Lizzie Morgan has also brought with her several entirely new original songs. We notice by advertisement that Shakspere's greatest tragedy, "Hamlet," in which Mr. Bates as the Prince made such a great hit, will be produced on Friday night, in consequence of special request, and we would advise lovers of Shakspere to witness this, one of the best representations ever given in Wellington.
