Thera ia next to nothing doing in the grain and produce market, and in the absence of &ny special transactions we merely quote last week’s rates as buyers’ quotations for delivery at Christchurch railway station I—XVheat,1 —XVheat, 4s. to 4s, 3d.; O/its, Is. Bd. to Is. 9d for good short quality: barley, 2s. to 45.: potatoes, S7s. 6d. to £2; butter. Is. to Is. Id.; cheese, Sd. to SJd.; hams and bacon, 9Jd. in cloth. STOCK AND STATIONS. At the Addington saleyards on Wednesday 3732 sheep were yarded. Owing to the overcrowded state of the market, prices ranged even lower than last week lid. per lb. being our quotation for best quality fat mutton, of which there was a very large supply, a great proportion being turnip fed. Several drafts of merino ewes, principally full mouth and in lamb to longwool rams, were got rid of at from 3s. to 3s. 6d. per head. IS3 head of cattle were penned, and with the exception of one really prime stall-fed bullock of great weight, there was a scarcity of first quality beet. We quote for best quality 275. Od. perlOOlbs.

TIMARU. We have little to report in the grain market, hardly any grain offering. Oats and barley very difficult to quit, except at very low prices. We quote buyers prices, delivered in Timaru: —Wheat, 4s. : barley, prime samples, 3s. 6d. ; inferior, 2s. to 2s. 3d.; oats, Is. fld. to Is. 7d.; flour, £11; sharps, £5; bran, £4 ; potatoes, £2.
