Canning, Esq., to offer for public sale by auction, at hia homestead, Oakboume, Hawke’s Bay, the undermentioned pure-bred and store stock, on Thursday, January 27, at noon, COTSWOLD RAMS. 10 pure pedigree Cotswold rams, aged 200 two-tooth Cotswold rams 200 ram hoggets These sheep are now so well known over the colony that they require little comment. They are the progeny of the celebrated Gawnes, Lanes, Eletcher, Brown and Marham, all long-established pure Cotswold flocks. Mr. Canning has bestowed his usual discrimination and care in selecting not only his imports, but in severely culling the young stock. The , value of the Cotswold for crossing .with, and as the test sheep to nick with the Merino, is of course beyond question, no other cross giving more profit in wool, or better constitution. . - ■ After the rams, the following ewes will bo sold: 1000 J-hred Cotswold ewes, 8-tooth 1000 i-bred Cotswold ewes, 8-tooth, all sound and in good condition. Also, 1000 C-tooth and full-mouth wethers. HORSE STOCK. Dugdale, stallion, pure Clydesdale imported (for pedigree, see advertisement in news-papers),-and 15 draught mares, stinted to Dugdale. These valuable mares were selected for Mr. Canning, by Mr. Samuel Macgregor, of Melbourne, who spared neither time .nor expense in procuring a lot fit, and whose produce would do justice to the most promising sire in the colony.
