RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
Tuesday, December 21. (Before J. C. Crawford, Esq., R.M.) JUVENILE DEPRAVITY. James Brennan, James Ramsay, Allan Ramsay, Ernest Goss, and John Thomas Reid were each charged with larceny, they having been guilty of stealing a duck, and committing other acts of an improper character. They were all dismissed but the latter, who appeared to be an offender in chief. John Thomas Reid was sentenced to seven days* imprisonment with hard labor. Inspector Atchison made an application to have two of the boys, J. Brennan and J. Ramsay, sent to the training school It appeared that Brennan, was under age, and no order in his case was made. Ramsay was committed to the training school for four years. DRUNKARDS. Charles Joseph was convicted of being drunk and incapable, and fined. Thomas Hunter was charged with being drunk and incapable and breaking a pane of glass. He was fined ss. for the original offence, and ordered to pay for the damage. In default, forty-eight hours* imprisonment.
