The Customs revenue collected at the port' of Wellington on Saturday was as follows: & s. d. £ s. d. Spirits .. 40 17 7 I Ad val. goods 3 19 S Wine.. -. 0 4 6 Weight .. 33 5 6 Sugar!.. -- 6S 15 11 Tobacco .. 75 761 Total ..£228 10 8 Mr. Duncan's horse sale on Saturday, at Messrs. Bethune and; Hunter's stockyards, was pretty well attended, and lasted about three hours. At flrst the bidding was very poor, and it needed much labor and some patience on the part of the auctioneer to effect sales. However, during the latter part and close of the sale competition became more active, and nearly -thirty—horse* were-sold. The following were the prices for some of the animals sold :—Three unbroken -colts sold for £29, •-£2B,- and £34; one roan horse, : broken to pl'mgh, £3B ; bay gelding, fit for plough and saddle, £4O ; another one at £2l ; gelding saddle, £IS ; and suudry other prices varying from £2O to £7. Several buggies, expresses, &c„.wero offered, some of which found buyers from £35 to £SO. ■ Sundry lots of ■saddlery were also sold—ladies' saddles, £5 10s. ; gents' ditto, 035.; and trap harness at £7. It is but right to state that ±he_horses were mostly young stock, and in fair condition.
