[per press agency.] By a telegram from Hokitika, dated 7 p.m., we learned that the Albion had arrived in the roadstead, but would not be tendered until 11 p.m. The result of the Melbourne Cup was, however, signalled, and is as follows; Melbourne Cup, a sweepstakes of 20 sots, each, 10 ft. or 6 if declared, with 300 added. The winner of any handicap race of the value of 200 sovs. after the declaration of the weights to carry 61b. extra ; of two or more such races, 81b. extra ; of any such race of tho value of 100 sovs., 31b. extra, of two or more such races, 51b. extra.
