CRICKET MATCH.
K match was played on Saturday between the Artillery and Constabulary, which resulted in an "easy victory for the latter by eight wickets. The bonding and batting of Messrs. 3. J. Salmon, for the Artillery, and Donovan, for the Constabulary, were very good. The fielding on both sides was loose. The longstopping of Wyatt, for the Constabulary, in both innings was very good; also that of Bock, for the Artillery, in the second innings, the highest scores being made by I. J. Salmon and Bishop, who scored 21 and 11 respectively for the Artillery, and Donovan and MaowMrter also scoring 9 and S respectively for the Constabulary. The attendance of spectators was very large—whole families, in fact, being present, there being no less than seven perambulators ranged outside the ground at one time. To many besides the players the sport was most enjoyable. The day was fine, the pl a J spirited, and the Artillery band was present, .and played a number of selections in their -usual efficient manner.
