The Customs revenue collected at the port of Wellington yesterday was as follows

Business lias been only moderately brisk In the import trade during the past week, and most of tbo

transactions have been limited to ordinary wants of the retail trade. Owing to the large stocks on hand prices continue low, and, except at auction, quotations are unaltered from our last report. At Mr. R. J. Duncan’s usual trade sale yesterday, in spite of the heavy rain, there was an unusually large attendance of buyers, and the following prices were realised under the hammer:—lo tons Adelaide flour, £l2 55.; 20 tons Canterbury and Otago do, £lO 15s. to £ll 12s, fld. for sacks and bags ; 7 tons potatoes, 575. Cd.; maize, 4s. lOd.; 20 casks whiting, in bad order, at £3 10s. per ton ; 5 hhds. and 10 qrs. Duboix Frere's brandy at ss. in bond ; 20 cases do, 4Ss. d.p.; Champagne Vineyard do, 475.; Martell’s, 545. per case • 20 cases, Courvoisier’s brandy, 4Ss.; 20 qr-casks port at 4s. 9d. to Cs. per gallon; 200 cases Geneva, key brand. 2 gallons 7s. Sd. to 7s. od., 34 gallons 11s., 4 gallons 14s. to 14s. Cd.; 40 cases salmon. Bs. to Ss 3d ; 20 cases V.D.L. jams. 6s. Cd.; 60 qr-chests tea at Is. 6d. to Is. 7d.; 10 hf-chests at Is. 4d.: 20 qrchests orange Pekoe, at Is. Bd. to Is. lOd.: 10 cases nr-sardines, ss. 2d.; 10 cases hf-do, 9s. 3d. to9s. 4d.: Mauritius Y sugar, £39 ss. per ton ; crushed loaf, 565.; 1 case cigars, £5 10s. per 1000 ; 10 cases Epernay champagne, 425.; &c., &c. In the produce market, butter continues depressed, and sales of keg butter have been madeat7|d. for very fair quality old. Holders still ask lid. to 12d. for new cure. Cheese unaltered. Bacon and hams in fair demand at lOd. to Is. 4d. for cloth packed. Flour dull, at £ll to £l2 per ton. Oats in excess, 2s. lOd. to 3s. Bd. according to sample, but difficult to move except in retail lots. Mr. James Smith sold the cargo of the Cleopatra to-day, consisting of 1300 sacks oatl and 58 cheeses, at 2s. lOd. per bushel for oats in two lines, sacks Is. 2d. each; and cheese, lid. to Hid. per lb

Saddle horses sold from £7 10s. to £l4los. CHRISTCHURCH. Friday. Export quotations, free on board: Lyttelton wheat, 4s. 6d.; oats, 2s. lod. to 35.; potatoes, £3 to £3 10s.; butter, la. to Is.
