The anchors, chains, steam winch, and some other gear from the steamer Bruce have been recovered. Mills’ is sanguine as to the salvage of the engines and boilers if the weather holds fine. The s.s. Taupo, Captain Macfarlane, came alongside the Queen’s Wharf at 7.45 a.m. yesterday, from Northern ports. She left Onehnnga at 11 a.m. on the 16th inst., and arrived off Taranaki at 6 a.m. next day, and left that port at 7.50 a.m.; arrived at Nelson at 7.30 p.m., and at the ■wharf at 9.30 p.m. the same day. She left at 10.13 next morning, and reached Picton at 5.30 p.m. She left Picton at 3.30 a.m. yesterday, and arrived as stated above. She experienced light northerly winds, with thick weather, throughout the passage. The Taupo leaves for the South this day, at 5 p.m. The s.s. Taranaki, Captain Xiloyd, left Onehunga on the morning of the 16th inst. and arrived off Taranaki next day at 4 a.m. She left at 7 a.m., and arrived at Nelsoh at 10 the same night, and arrived at Picton at 5.40 p.m. She left Picton at 3.30 next morning, and arrived at the Queen's Wharf at 9 a.m. She experienced thick weather throughout the passage. The s.s. Hawea, Captain Wheeler, arrived at the Queen’s Wharf yesterday at 1.30 p.m. She left Port Chalmers at 6 p.m. on Saturday, and arrived at Lyttelton at 11.30 a.m. the next day. She left Lyttelton at 2.20 p.m. yesterday, and arrived at time just stated. She experienced fine weather from Port Chalmers to Lyttelton ; from thence, thick northerly weather. The Colonial Government p.s. Luna, Captain Fairchild; left Napier at 9 p.m. on Monday. Landed stores at Pencarrow lighthouse, and arrived in harbor at 10.30 yesterday morning. She experienced fine weather throughout the passage.
