RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
Monday, October 11. (Before J. C. Crawford, Esq., R.M.) DRUNKENNESS. Fanny Howell, William Howell, John Desten, Benjamin Stanley, John Cooper, Freer Francis, and Henry Hastal, were each punished for drunkenness. SHIP DESERTION. George Mitchell was charged with having deserted from the barque Dilawur. The offence was proved, and defendant committed to prison for fourteen days, with hard labor. CIVIL CASES. The folio-wing cases were disposed of in manner described ;—Pollock v. Frask, a claim of £lB 7s. 4d., judgment for amount and costa; Orr v. Thompson, claim £1 Is., no appearance; Austin v. O’Meara, claim £5 17s. 6d., ordered to pay within one month, or in default to be imprisoned for one month.
