The Strathmore is 171 days out. Should she not turn up at ISO days, the insurance offices will pay claims. AUCKLAND, Thursday. Akrived: Hawea and Phoebe; Bengal, barque, from Adelaide, with 502 tons wheat. The British Empire has arrived from London, after a voyage of 82 days from land to land. She brings over SOO Government immigrants, all well.
The Ladybird sailed yesterday at 4.15 p.m., taking in tow the ship Eodney, bound for Melbourne. BPA ship was signalled during yesterday, which very likely will prove to be the Border Chief. The Kinfauns Castle entered the Customs yesterday, and will commence discharging cargo at the first opportunity. . , The s.s. Ladybird, Captain Andrew, arrived at the wharf at 6 a.m. yesterday. She left the Manukau at 2 15 on the 4th inst., and arrived off Taranaki at 8.15 a.m. on the sth. She left at 11 a.m., and arrived at Nelson at 9.25 a.m. on the Cth. Sailed at 11.50, and arrived at Picton at 8.15 p.m. Left again at midnight, and arrived in Wellington as stated above. From Manukau to Nelson, experienced a heavy gale from the S. TV. The favorable wind of yesterday morning enabled the following vessels to set sail for their various destinations: Falcon, Shepherdess, Eichard and Mary, Hunter, Cynthia, and Jane Elkin.
