The barque 'William Ackers, Captain Lindsay, from Newcastle, dropped anchor in ’Wellington harbor at 4 p.m. yesterday. She left Newcastle on the 25th nit. From the time of sailing, and throughout the passage, she experienced heavy unsettled weather, the winds prevailing from N.E. to S.E. Sighted Cape Farewell at daybreak on the sth inst., and passed Stephens Island at 6 p.m. on the same day, and Mana Island at 3 a.m. yesterday. The wind being too strong from the N.W. to work into the harbor, she anchored off Pencarrow light until noon, when, noticing indications of a S.E. breeze, the captain hove up anchor and ran into the harbor, and anchored at the time above stated.
