Manawatu, Captain Evans, left the Corporation wharf, AVanganui, at 9 p.m. on the 29th inst., and crossed the bar at 9.45 p.m. Experienced light northerly winds and smooth water throughout the passage. She arrived alongside the Wellington wharf at 10.30 [a.m. yesterday. ' A schooner was signalled during the latter part of yesterday, but was unable to enter the harbor owing to adverse winds. She is supposed to be the Cynthia, from Kaipara, belonging to Messrs. Greenfield and Stewart. . * The brig Robin Hood, Captain Paton, hauled off the wharf yesterday afternoon, and having favorable wind sailed for Newcastle, in ballast. She had three passengers. The schooner Saucy Lass , sailed yesterday morning with a limited freight for Felorus Sound. The s.s. Napier, Captain Butt, with a lull cargo for Foxton, left the wharf yesterday afternoon. The Government p.s. Luna, is expected to leave for Manawatu this evening. Yestertfhy was a very quiet day in shipping circles. The four London ships-have now all but discharged their cargoes, while our costal trade, in the way of exports, was -confined to a full cargo of goods for Foxton per the Napier, and a small shipment for Pelorus Sound per the Saucy Lass. The p.s. Manawatu, Captain Evans, sailed for Lyttelton yesterday at 5 p.m., having been specially chartered by Mr. Montgomery, M.H.R. The barque Malay, Captain Hill, may shortly be expected from Hobarton with horses, timber, and ether Tasmanian produce.
