The Rodney win have finished discharging her cargo by to-morrow, and will depart early in next week for Melbourne, in ballast. - It will be a week before the Halcione will be able to discharge all her cargo, .and'she will have to take in some stiffening to enable her to discharge the remainder, which consists principally of railway material. She has already received an instalment of her outward cargo, in the shape of some wool and tallow. -Several saloon and second cabin berths have been secured by intending passengers by this fastsailing and commodious clipper. It is expected that the Teviotdale will commence taking in ballast on Friday morning. She discharged he last of the five locomotives on Tuesday. A breakage in a block forming part of the tackle used in lifting this locomotive occurred, but fortunately with no serious consequences. The clench on-the swivel broke, and as a consequence the hook came out. It is undeniable that more care should be exercised in the manufacture of these blocks, and the best material only should be made use of, as the tension on the blocks is very great. The Teviotdale will be ready for sea by the end of- next week. She will then proceed direct to Calcutta; and as Captain Nicoll hopes to catch the N.E. monsoons, and will have a staunch ship under him.he anticipates making a quick passage, so as to be in time for the first of the cotton erop. She will then sail direct for Home via the Cape of Good Hope. The b.s. Stonnbird, Captain Doile, left the Corporation wharf, "Wanganui, at 1.45 a.m., and arrived at the Queen's wharf at 1.15 p.m. yesterday. She sighted a brig off Terawiti sailing under close-reefed topsails, but could not distinguish her name. Experienced light fair wind 3 until sighting_ Mana; from thence a strong breeze. Her enterprising owners, Messrs. Turnbull and Co., immediately on her arrival placed her on the berth for Nelson: After taking in upwards of ninety ton 3 of cargo, she was despatched for Nelson at 9 p.m. yesterday The p.s. Manawatu, Captain Evans, arrived in this port yesterday morning at 5 o'clock. She left "Wanganui at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Experienced strong southerly winds throughout the passage. The barque Emily McLaren ha 3 secured a berth, and is now taking in ballast. She will proceed to Napier, at which port she will receive freight for London. The Vice Admiralty Court has issued an attachment against the schooner Young Dick, which has been duly executed by the Marshal of the Court. This course has been taken at the instance of the captain of the Jane Spiers, the Young Dick having refused to pay the amount of the damage occasioned by the late collision.
