Taupo arrived at the Queen’s Wharf from Northern *ports yesterday morning &i 8.30. She left Onehunga at 1.20 p.m. on the 7th inst.; crossed the bar at 2.45 p.m., : and arrived in New Plymouth on the following morning at 6; she left at 9.30, and .arrived in Nelson at midnight; she left,Nelson at 2 p.m. on the 9th, and arrived at Picton at 9.30 p.m.; left at 4 yesterday morning, and arrived as above stated. Experienced light westerly winds, with smooth water, throughout the passage. * The s.s. Napier, Captain Butt, left Foxton at 2 o’clock on Thursday afternoon,'and arrived in Wellington yesterday at 1.30 p.m. She experienced fine weather throughout the passage, and reports having passed the p.s. Manawatu off Sinclair Head. The schooner Ruby cleared at the Customs yesterday for Kaikoura. She has a good cargo and three passengers. There are now four vessels of heavy tonnage berthed alongside our quays, the Rodney, Teviotdale, Dilawur, and Halcione- The Halcione is expected to commence discharging cargo to-day. The Rodney vrill sail for Melbourne on or about the 17th inst., and the Halcione will sail for London direct early in November, and will probably be the first wool ship of the season from New Zealand.^
