TO THE EDITOR OP THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sir, -My little pamphlet in answer to “ Zctalethes ” seems to have disturbed your reviewer’s equanimity. I still think that no successful attempt has yet been made to show that the invariability of the order or laws of nature cau bo proved as a uni-' versal proposition. Until this is done, the assertion that a miracle is antecedently impossible, and therefore contrary to reason, is a more gratuitous assumption of no weight whatever. Dr. Morley’s words are worth remembering:—"Tho battle against tho supernatural has been going on long, and strong men have conducted it and are conducting it, but what they want is a weapon. The logic of unbelief wants a universal. But no real universal is forthcoming, and it only wastes its strength in wielding a fictitious one.” —I am, &c., O. Welunuton. September 2.
