THE CRICKET GROUND.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sir, —Ever cricketer in Wellington must bo pleased at reading the article iu your paper to-day, calling attention to the state of the Wellington public cricket-ground. May I ask why do not the trustees luve sheep turned on tho ground, as is done on all other cricket-grounds? The close bite and the tread of sheep do more good than any artificial work that can be applied, and much cheaper.— I am, &c„ Sussex. Wellington, September 2.
