BY TELEGRAPH. LYTTELTON, Wednesday. Arrived : Albion, from the South; Mary Blair, from Hobarton ; and Alert, from Hokitika. Sailed : Albion, for the North. Passengers—Miss Hargreaves and Mr. W. Ellingford. AUCKLAND, Wednesday. Arrived: Go-Ahead, from Wanganui; Torea, from Taranaki. Sailed : Hero, s.s., for Sydney; Southern Cross and Pretty Jane, for Napier; Fairlie, forLyttelton, ■via Thames. The p.s. Manawatu left Wanganui on Tuesday morning at 10.30, crossed the bar at 11 a.m., and arrived alongside the Queen's wharf at 11.30 p.m. Experienced strong westerly winds and a heavy beam sea throughout the passage. The Heversbam,- from Newcastle, was lying at anchor at the Heads all day yesterday. The s.s. Rangatira, before leaving on her outward trip, underwent a thorough overhaul at the patent slip, Evans Bar. The Union Company's s.s. Taupo, Captain McFarlane, arrived at the wharf last night at (5.30. She left Port Chalmers at 4 p.m. on the 30th ult.; arrived at Akaroa at 7 am. the following morning, and left at 7.30 a.m.: arrived at Lyttelton at 11.30a.m., and in consequence of a heavy N.W. gale prevailing, was unable to leave the Gladstone pier until 2.30 a.m. on the Ist inst., arriving here as above. Experienced fresh head winds to Lyttelton; thence to Cape Campbell light variable winds, and from thence strong N.W. winds.
