COMMERCIAL.
The Customs revenue collected at the port of Wellington yesterday was as follows: —
CANTERBURY, (From Saturday’s Lyttelton 2'iines.') Grain and Produce,—The market is exceedingly dull, and in the absence of transactions, we can do no more than repeat last week’s quotations, viz. Bran and sharps, from lOd. to lid. per bushel, and 10s. per ton extra f.o.b. Cheese, Bd. to Sfcd-; butter Is. to Is. 2d. nominally. Potatoes (nominal), at £3 15s. to £3 17s. 6d. for best samples. In hams and bacon manufacturers are doing a fair export business at undermentioned ratesßacon and hams (in equal numbers), bare. Hid,; bacon only, lOid. ; haras only, 12id. f 3rd. extra In cloth. Stock and Stations.—ln this market we have little change to report, as no new feature has developed itself since our last. There is some inquiry for store sheep, but prices asked leave little hope of profit to the grazier, looking forward to cheap mutton again during the summer, Tho yards on Wednesday were well supplied with sheep, and prices were well maintained all round, but more particularly for prime quality. Best merino wethers made 155., and crossbreds 18s. 3d.; other qualities in proportion. Wo leave our quotation to stand at 3Jd. per lb. on the average. The number of cattle yarded was small,
but comprised some excellent quality cows and bullocks, brought forward by Mr. James Hurse, one of the latter reaching £l6. Our quotation for beef is 355. per lOOlbs. for very prime, receding as the quality declines. Store cattle continue in good demand. BY TELEGRAPH. AUCKLAND, Monday.
