RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Tuesday, August 17.
Martha Ford was charged with vagrancy. It appeared that the defendant was unable to gain her livelihood in consequence of injuries sustained in her hand. The Bench regretted the circumstance, but said there was no alternative left than to send her to gaol for one calendar month, with hard labor. DRUNK AND rNCAPABLE. Johu Chapman, Mary Smith, and Anne Stocks were convicted of the above offence, and fined ss. each, or in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment. civil CASES. There were five unimportant cases. One was withdrawn. Judgment was confessed in two cases.' In the remaining two judgment was given for the amount} claimed, with costs.
