The new steamer Kiwi came off the slip and steamed up to the wharf yesterday. She has had a complete overhaul, aind is now ready for service. Captain Campbell, of the schooner Enterprise, has been appointed commander. The steam launch belonging to the Government got up steam yesterday, and proceeded on a trial trip round the harbor. She appears to be well adapted for the purpose for which she was intended. The s.s. Napier left last night for Foxton. The s.s. Rangatira took her departure yesterday afternoon for Napier and Poverty Bay. The schooner Hannah Barratt, which left here on Monday last, has been windbound, and since that time has been anchored inside the Heads.
