Abutted yesterday: Maori, s.s., from Westport; schooner Friendship, from Nelson; to-day: Lizzie Guy, from Lyttelton, _ _ , Sailed: Alert, for Lyttelton; T. B. Taylor, for Wanganui. AUCKLAND, Monday. The Luna sailed yesterday with the Auckland members. The little steamer Fairy arrived from Napier yesterday with a cargo of limestone. She will go on the Patent Slip for the purpose of an overhaul. The Wellington steamed for Southern ports yesterday afternoon. . , ~ The steamers Stonnbird and Manawatu took their departure for Wanganui yesterday. Both vessels took Jaige general consignments and several passengers. Amongst the Jlanawatu's passengers -were 67* immigrants ex Lammershagen. - The ship Collingwood was released from quarantine yesterday. She came up from Somes Island late in the afternoon, and hauled alongside No. 6 berth.^ The steamers Hawea and Phoebe have had a trial of speed, and the latter was beaten by three hours and foe minutes. Both vessels left Port Chalmers on Saturday last; the Phosbe at 3.45 p.m., and the Hawea at 4.30 p.m. The Phoebe arrived at Lyttelton tm Sunday at 10.40 a.m., the Hawea having arrived at 5.30 a.m. same day. . . , The barometer fell rapidly over the whole colony yesterday, and the general appearance of the weather -cents threatening. Fresh N.W. winds, with heavy rain prevailed generally over the North Island: a strong N.W. gale, however, was blowing at Opunake yesterday morning. Heavy rain fell all day yesterday, and there is every likelihood of a continuance of the present wretched weather. Captain Black, of the Collingwood, wishes ns to state that the mattresses reported some time since as having come ashore and been seen by a resident of Oriental Bay, were not thrown overboard from his ship. Captain Black makes this explanation, as any one reading the letter which appeared in our columns of the 14th would imagine that the mattresses referred to belonged to the Collingwood. . The passengers and immigrants per the ship collingwood have presented Captain Black with a very flattering testimonial, expressing their high esteem of Ms kindness and skilful seamanship during the voyage from London.
