Monday, July 12. (Before J. C. Crawford, Esq., E.M.) DRUNKENNESS. ' Alfred Barker was fined 55., with the alternative of twenty-four hours’ imprisonment, for being drunk and incapable. Henry Geary, who had been taken into custody for drunkenness, and afterwards admitted to bail on his own recognizance, put in no appearance. A warrant was issued for his apprehension. VAGRANCY.: Ed. W. Austin was charged with vagrancy. He came to the lock-up saying he wanted.a night’s lodgings, but was refused. After a short time he repeated his visit and again

asked to be taken care of, the police, much to the prisoner’s satisfaction, acceding to his request. Dismissed with a caution. CIVIL CASE. Thompson v. Hastwell,—Claims for .£l7 os., tolls on defendant’s coach. Mr. Travers for plaintiff ; Mr. Brandon for defendant. The debt was proved, and plaintiff .also stated that defendant had early last week expressed an intention to pay, which he afterwards revoked. His Worship gave judgment for the amount, holding that the first part of the schedule of the Act of 1873. had not been repealed, but that the provision in the Act of 1874 only related to a particular item in the Act of the previous year.
