THE CALEDONIAN SOCIETY’S GROUND.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE SEV ZEALAND TIMES. Sir ---It having been rumored that charges cannot be made at the gates of the above ground by any committee of local sports that might be got up from time to time, I am at a loss to know how the Caledonian Society is to procure funds for improvements and the keeping in good order of the above grounds It certainly is strange, from the fact of tins groundbeingpubUcproperty, that the above fact was not discovered long since. I should like to know, through your columns, if there is any truth in the rumor, as it will be a great inconvenience, to the Caleuoman Society in particular, likewise the Ancient Order of Foresters, who have been in the habit oi celebrating their annual fete on Boxing Day ; also the newly formed Athletic Club, and many other such like institutions. Last, bat not least, how our local cricketers will be able to make a fund suthcicnt to guarantee the Victorian cricketers to pay the Empire City a visit, and arrange a match with our local aspirants to the willow ?
