RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Monday, June 14. Thomas Murray, whose eccentricities have caused of late much amusement to the general public, was again charged with drunkenness and vagrancy. His Worship, notwithstanding many promises of future good behavior, sentenced the offender to imprisonment for three calendar months, with hard labor. Two other drunkards, named Sullivan and Yelverton, were sentenced respectively, the former to a fine of 205., or in default forty-eight, hours' imprisonment, the latter, fourteen days' imprisonment, with hard labor. ASSAULT, WITH THREATENING LANGUAGE. Frank Yiore, charged with using threatening language and assault by Annie Yiors, was. remanded for eight days. % ~*-- BREACH OF MERCHANT SHIPPING ACT. James Shellan, charged with refusing duty on board the barque Melaine by Captain. Benjamin Creagh, was dismissed, Captain Creagh not putting in an appearance. CHARGE Olf RAPE. James Cameron, charged with committing an assault of a criminal character on EV Smith, was, after hearing evidence, committed to take his trial at the next sitting of the Supreme Court, bail being allowed in two sureties of £l5O. .
