Monday, May 3. _ (Before J. C. Crawford, Esq., K.M.) _ William Roach was charged with being drunk and disorderly on Saturday evening. His Worship fined the prisoner 10s. ; m default, forty-eight hours. assault on a constable. William Palmer was charged with a similar offence, and also with assaulting Constable Carroll in the execution of his duty. Xne prisoner was creating a disturbance at Barretts Hotel on Saturday evening, and on the constable remonstrating with him bb abominable language, and struck and kicked pleaded guilty, and said he was the worse for liquor ; but he was very sorry for bia misconduct. . , n . . His Worship fined the prisoner 405., in default seven days’ hard labor, at the same time warning him to be more careful m “ LODGED,” AT HIS OWN BEQUEST. Robert Lampteer, whose appearance was the reverse of respectable, was charged with being drunk and incapable on Saturday evening. The prisoner staggered up to the constable and said that if he was not provided with a night s iChdng at the expense of her Majesty the -T" Queen he would do something desperate. The constable, in order to accommodate him, complied with his wish. _ , n , The prisoner, in explanation to the Oourt, alleged that he had been drinking for some time, and bad injured hi* hand, and he did not know what to do in consequence. Mary Humlin, who was charged with being drunk and disorderly, but did not put m an appearance, forfeited her bail of £l. Sergeant Ready proved having arrested prisoner in Willis-street about 1 a.m. on Suiiday. She was very drunk, and created a horrible disturbance whilst being conveyed to the lock-up. threatening language.
