TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —I have received a telegram from the agent of this society in Auckland, in which ho gives me an extract from the Sydney Evening News of the 20th instant, containing a condensed account of the 26th Annual Kcport of the above society for the year 1874. As there are a large number of members of the society in this city and province, I think it may bo interesting to them to know the results of the last year's business, and shall be glad if you will insert it in your paper.—l am, &c., Joseph Dyer, Resident Secretary. Wellington, April 28. [TELEGRAM.] Auckland, April 28, 1875. The Sydney Evening Nexus of the 25th inst., received by the Hero, contains the 26th Annual Report of the Australian Mutual Provident Society, which was to be presented to the members at the annual meeting to be held on the 27th Inst., at Sydney. The following are the results of the business of the year 1874; New proposals accepted and completed during the year wore 3201, assuring £1,160,600. The total new premiums for the year amount to £42,909. The excess of receipts over disbursements for the year is £182,571. The accumulated funds now amount to £1,600,074. The claims from death and maturity of the policies of 119 members amount to £79,347. which includes bonus additions to the amount of £9247. The annual income from premiums now amounts to £277,422, and from interest on investments to £82,320, making a total annual income of £359,742175. 9d.
