Government Land Sales. NEW ZEALAND. PROVINCE OF TARANAKI. GOVERNMENT LAND SALES. A SERIES of LAND SALES is being held in the PROVINCE 'of ■ TARANAKI under the Waste Lands Board of the province, the Lands offered being Town and Rural Allotments, the latter varying, in area from 20 to 320 acres, and the conditions of sale being by DEFERRED PAYMENTS extended over Ten Years, by Auction, for CASH; and by FREE SELECTION for CASH. The district is traversed by the Waitara-Wanganui Railway, now in course of construction, and which is expected to be completed as far as Inglewood—the Township at the commencement of the district—in about eighteen months. The land is well adapted to working settlers of small capital, as it is easily accessible, has abundance of timber for building, fencing, fuel, and shelter; never-failing streams of water, and a very productive soil. A good main road traverses the district so far as it is yet open for purchase, and the District Roads will also be opened up by the Provincial Government, so as to make each allotment accessible from the main line of railway. NOTICE is hereby given that until further notice water from the waterworks mains must be used for domestic or similar purposes only. The mains will be charged at full pressure thrice daily, viz., from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Heavy penalties are recoverable and will bo enforced for allowing water to run to waste or unlawful use thereof. Notice is hereby given that, in pursuance of Section 298 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1867, all private streets within the City of Wellington must be properly constructed, to the satisfaction of the Council, before being declared public streets under the Common Seal of the Council. DEPUTATIONS. All ratepayers and others wishing to wait personally on the Council are requested to send a written application to the Town Clerk at least two days before the Council meeting, stating the purport of the business they wish to bring before the Council. • PUBLIC WORKS. All ratepayers addressing the Council on Public Works matters are informed that the Public Works Committee meet on Tuesdays, at 4 p.m., aud that letters sent in on that day will be at once reported on.
