The steamer Manawatu, Evans, master, steamed for Wanganui yesterday afternoon. The steamer Napier, Butt, master, arrived at nine o’clock yesterday morning from Foxton, having left that port the previous evening at five o'clock. She towed the ketch Amateur, bound for Waitara, over the Manawatu bar. Captain Butt reports little, water on the bar. The steamer Tararua, Captain Clark, arrived in Wiilington harbor yesterday morning from Lyttelton, after a splendid run of 1 hours. The following report of her passage has been kindly supplied by her purser, to whom wo are indebted for files :—Cleared Port Phillip Heads at seven p.m. on the Cth inst.; experienced fine weather with light B.E. winds up to the 3th inst,, and then had very thick rainy weather with strong N.W. breeze till making the land, passing the Solanders at 2.30 p.m. on the 11th, and arriving at The Bluff at eight p.m. same night ; sailed at five p.m. next day, and arrived at Port Chalmers at six a.m. on the 13th ; having discharged 150 tons cargo, left same day at 5.30, and arrived at Oamaru at 11.30 p.m,, where she shipped 1500 bags grain for Melbourne ; sailed again at 5.30 p.m. on the 14th, and arrived at Lyttelton at nine o'clock next morning ; left at 5.30 p.m. on Thursday, and arrived in Wellington at nine a.m. yesterday. The Tararua will sail for Melbourne, via Nelson and the West Coast, tomorrow morning. The barque Australian Sovereign hauled alongside the ship Carnatic yesterday morning, and commenced the transhipment of her cargo of grain into that vessel. The three-masted schooner May commenced putting out her inward cargo yesterday. She will leave for Hongkong and Foochow in a few days. ANGLO-NEW ZEALAND SHIPPING. ARRIVED IN LONDON. February 3. SAILED FROM GLASGOW February 18, City of Cashmere, for Otago. The loss of the Aberdeen steamer Lochnagar, belonging to Messrs. Adam and Co,, Aberdeen, ia reported? On January 23 she left the Tyne coal laden for India, and on January 20 was wrecked on the Galloper Sands on the Essex Coast. Of the crew, twenty-seven in number, seventeen have been landed at Flushing b j ft French brig, bat the remainder, including the captain, are missing. Xho vessel was worth between twenty and thirty thousand pounds. The Mystery, from London lor Canterbury, which left the Downs on January 13, put back on the 23rd, with loss of anchor and 15 fathoms of chain, She has since been supplied with an anchor and 00 fathoms of chain in lieu thereof. The Dunmore, from London for Nelson.—l he owners of this vessel have received the following telegram from the master of that vessel:— Dunmore ashore January 23, otf Coastguard Station, Fevensoy; has sustained no apparent damage: lies quiet: makes no water; have telegraphed to Portsmouth and Shorcham for tugs; if weather-keep fl«o expect to get off without damage." A later telegram states that the Dunmore is afloat, and proceeded to the river'for survey. She is apparently undamaged. On January 25 Messrs. A. McMillan and Son launched, from their dockyard at Dunbarton, an iron galling ship, named the Earl of Zetland, of 15-40 tons register, and highest class at Lloyd s. This vessel is built to the order of Messrs. Alexander Thomson and Nephews. Grangemouth, and proceeds to London > to take passengers and cargo to New Zealand, being
