THE CLARK-CHRISTIAN ENTERTAINMENT.

The Odd Fellows’ Hall was scarcely so well filled last evening as upon the occasion of the opening entertainment, though the programme was if anything more attractive. Keversing the order of Monday night, the reserved seats were not crammed, but the back seats and the gallery presented little room for the accommodation of an additional number of patrons had they presented themselves. Mr. Clark began his recitations with “ The Gardener’s Daughter, or the Pictures,” from Tennyson, which was given with fine effect ; Ins other selections being " Bob Sawyer s Party, which was inimitably humorous ; “ The Courtship of Miles Standish,” which had its serious as well as its humorous phases ; and “The Boots at the Holly-tree Inn,” which of course brought down the house. Miss Christian sang “The Beating of my own Heart” (Macfarren), "Will he come ?** (Sullivan), and “ Once Again” (Sullivan), each being warmly received and encored ; in fact, Miss Christian appears to have won her way to a high position in the estimation of the public in an incredibly rapid manner. According to announcement, this evening’s entertainment is tho last but one ; and if that arrangement is to be adhered to, the public should not be forgetful of the fact.
