BY TELEGRAPH. PORT CHALMERS, Monday. Arrived: Eaaby, 8.5., from Wellington. SEW PLYMOUTH, Monday. Sailed : Ladybird, for Southern ports. LYTTELTON, Monday. The Otago sails North to-morrow at one o’clock/ The Pleiades has cleared for London, with 2700 hales of wool, 31 skins, and 750 tons wheat: the Helena, for Auckland, 70 tons of flour, 500 sacks of wheat, 300 of bran, COO of oats, 40 of sharps, 12 tanks of malt, and 40 bags of bone dust. Owing to the obstruction of the Paterson in the Waitara River, what was some time since predicted by masters of vessels visiting that port, has at length been accomplished—namely, the closing up of the river. At the present time there is no channel, and vessels drawing over five feet—or, at any rate, five feet six inches—will have to be lightered outside before they can enter.—Taranaki Herald, March 27. The ship Fits Reuter sailed from Napier on Slst March for Callao. The steamer Southern Cross discharged her inward cargo yesterday morning, and steamed round to the Patent Slip at Evans Bay, where she will receive a slight overhaul. In all probability the Cross will resume her trade to-morrow. The steamer Stormbird will this morning bo taken upon Coffey and Dixon’s slip,Clyde-quay, for the purpose of receiving any repairs which may be found necessary to her bottom. The steamer Rangatira, Captain Griffiths, left last evening on her weekly trip to Kapler and Poverty Ray. She had a full cargo. The steamer Wellington, Captain Carey, sailed at two yesterday afternoon for Picton, Nelson, Taranaki, and Mannkau. Amongst her cargo was a quantity of telegraph material to bo landed at Blenheim. The steamers Napier and Egmont sailed for Foxton yesterday afternoon. The former steamer had a large cargo and ten passengers. The steamer Manawatu, Captain Evans, left the harbor at 3.30 yesterday afternoon for Wanganui. She will return to this port to-morrow. The Ladybird, Captain Andrew, is duo here this morning from Mannkau, Taranaki, Nelson, and Picton. She will leave for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers again, this afternoon. Messrs. Rrogdcn and Son’s schooner, the Julius Vogel winch came in contact with the wreck of the p.s. Paterson in the Waitara Itiver, arrived here yes* terday. The schooner has sustained but trifling If any, damage, and her captain states that the particulars of the accident were greatly exaggerated The brig Robin Hood cleared at the Customs yesterday for Newcastle.
