It was brought under the notice of the meeting that the Government were taking steps to divert a stream of water’, known as the Terrace stream, from its natural course,

leading from the township, and turning it into the drain leading to the township. The chairman -was requested to communicate with Mr. Stewart, the district engineer, and protest against such a course being taken, as it would cause a deal of damage and inconvenience to property owners at the east end of the township, as there is a large quantity of water from that direction in the winter time, sometimes accumulating to a depth of about four feet, completely filling a large ditch running parallel with the tramway, and within a few' feet of the houses of residents in that quarter, who feel somewhat alarmed lest some accident might occur. The Board will meet again on the 14th of May next.
