APPOINTMENTS. James Prendergast, Esq., Barrister-at-Daw, to be the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of New Zealand ; Walter Scott Keid, Esq., Barrister, to bo Solicitor-General of the colony ; William Sefton Moorhouse, Esq., to be Prevising Officer for the electoral districts of City of Wellington, Wellington Country Districts, Manawatu, Eangitikei, Wairarapa, the Hutt, and Wanganui, in the province of Wellington. ELECTIONS NOTIFIED. The election of Sir George Grey, K.C.8., freeholder, as Superintendent of the province of Auckland ; Sir George Grey, K.C.8., as member of the House of 1 representatives for the district of Auckland City West. TENDER ACCEPTED. That of Messrs. Lyon and Blair for bookbinding for the twelvemonths commencing the Ist of April, 1875.
