PORT CHALMERS, Thursday. Arrived ; Whaling barque Splendid, with 120 barrels of sperm oil. Sailed: Alhambra, s.s., for Melbourne, via The Bluff; Wellington,' s.s., for Northern ports. The steamer Taranaki, Captain Lloyd,' left for Picton, Nelson, Taranaki, and Manukau yesterday afternoon. She took a large cargo, principally telegraph material. The steamer Southern Cross Is expected to arrive here from Auckland, Poverty Bay, and Napier, on Saturday next. The steamer Easby will finish discharging her .Wellington cargo this morning, and sail for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers in the afternoon.

The ketch Falcon, Fisk, master, arrived from Blenheim yesterday morning with a fall cargo of produce, a quantity of which was put on board the ship Sookar.

The p.s. Lyttelton, Scott, master, arrived at 7.30 last evening from Blenheim after a run of nine hours. Fine weather and smooth water prevailed in the Strait. The Lyttelton brought sixteen passengers, and seventy-five bales of wool, which she will this morning tranship to the ship Soukar, She leaves again for Blenheim in the evening. -McJleckan and Blackwood’s steamer, the Omeo, came into port at half-past one o'clock yesterday from Melbourne, via the South. She left Sandridge Pier at 2.30 p.m. on the 20th, clearing Port Philip Heads at 6 o’clock. Swan Island was passed the following day at C. 20 pftn. The Solanders were sighted on the morning of the 25th, but The Bluff was not reached till 7 o’clock on the following morning. For three days after leaving Melbourne moderate S.E. winds, with fine weather, prevailed.- When the Omeo reached the Solanders, she experienced squally weather and rough water, which compelled her to keep for some time under the lee of Steward's Island. Left The Bluff and arrived at Port Chalmers on the 2Sth, at 7 p.ra. ; left Port Chalmers on the 30th, at 4.30 p.m. ; arrived at Lyttelton at 12.30 on the 21st; left Lyttelton on the same night, at 7 p.m., arriving in Wellington harbor at 1,30 p.ra. yesterday. She was. to leave for Nelson and Newcastle at four o’clock this morning.
