Drapery. N®\V OPEN, THE-NEW DRAPERY, MILLINERY, AND CLOTHING WAREHOUSE, Lambton-quay, next to Mr. Mulligan, Jeweller. S. W. ALCORN begs to inform the ladies and gentlemen of the City and Province of Wellington, that he has opened those spacious premises adjoining Mr. Mulligan’s, as a firstclass Drapery, Millinery, and Clothing Establishment. My first shipment, consisting of upwards of ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY OASES Of new, fashionable, and useful Goods (specially selected by my London buyer for the opening of the new premises), have now been opened up, the contents of which comprise a full assortment in every department. COSTUMES ! COSTUMES ! Three cases containing 175 Ladies’, Maids’, and Children’s Costumes, in Pique, Batiste, Balerno, Tussore, Arabian Glace, &c., with Polonaise, Jacket, and Body, piece complete, handsomely trimmed, have now been opened. These goods having been bought at the close of the London season at an enormous discount enables me to offer them to the public of Wellington at much below English wholesale prices. Handsome Costumes, with Polonaise complete, IGs. lid. to 325. 6d., worth 275. fid. to 525. SILK AND CASHMERE MANTLES, JACKETS, &c. S. W. Alcorn begs the particular attention of the ladies of Wellington to a superb lot of rich Silk Mantles, elaborately trimmed, and richly embroidered Cashmere Capes, Mantillas. Eichus, Dolmans, &0., which are being sold at about half their original cost. The quality of these goods is such as is rarely seen in Wellington, and for style and finish are perfect works of art and will well repay a visit of inspection. DRESS DEPARTMENT, Fancy dress goods. S. W. Alcorn has now opened up the most extensive stock in the city, at prices perfectly irresistible, 4750 yards mohair dress stuff, at, fijd., 7id., and 8-1(1., worth lid. to 15d. 3240 yards diagonal dress stuff, at lid., good value for Is. fid. Patterns by post. LINEN TUSSORES, 3000 yards of this fashionable and durable fabric ai-e now being sold at 6Jd., 7Jd., 8-Jd., and Old. per yard, in plain colors, satin stripes, spots, &o. (worth fully 60 per cent, more), at S. W. Alcorn’s new establishment, Lambtonquay. Patterns free by post. MILLINERY DEPARTMENT. Having secured the services of first-class milliners, S. W. Alcorn can confidently ask the patronage of the ladies of Wellington in this department, assured that for ELEGANCE, TASTE, and STYLE his millinery cannot be equalled in the city. Ladies’, maids’, and children’s hats in leghorn, chip, and straw, embracing all the latest shapes. Paris and London millinery bonnets, French and English flowers, feathers, ribbons, hat and bonnet ornaments, pearl and oxidised slides, &c. A Choice Stock op French Evening Flowers and Wreaths. LADIES’ UNDERCLOTHING. In this department the stock is exceedingly large and well-assorted, and the prices for the same’ quality of article will be found lower than in any other house in the city. Ladies intending to make purchases are requested to note the following quotations ; Ladies’ plain, tucked and trimmed, drawers, Is. 9d. up to 11s. fid. each,' Ladies' plain and trimmed chemises, Is. 9d. up to 10s. fid. each. A select stock of rich French and Paisley wove shawls, and Long’s at from 225. fid. to 10 guineas each ; lace, llama, silk, and wool shawls, and Long’s in profusion. MANCHESTER DEPARTMENT. In this department S. W. A. has imported only the most useful makes of domestic goods, every requisite for house furnishing and family use now opened up. SILKS. Rich black glace silks at 3s. fid., 3s. 9d., 4s. 4s. fid, ss. Rich Gros de Suez, Gros de Naples, Indiana, Ducape, and other favorite makes from 4s. fid. to 14s. fid, per yard. Fancy silks in great variety of pattern, style, and quality, Plain glace silk and Gros de Suez in all the new colorings. Japanese silks, plain and figured. Men’s tweed trousers and vests, 16s. lid., 18s. 9d., 19s. fid., and upwards. Men’s suits, English and Colonial made. Men's tweed coats, 13s. lid. and upwards. Now shapes in single and double breasted coats. Waterproof coats and leggings. Youths’ suits, coats, trousers, and vests and trousers.
