In the import market a moderate amount of business has been reported, hut transactions, save m exceptional cases, have not been of much account. Breadstuffs are scarcely so firm ; flour, however,, is less affected than wheat. . Sales are making at £lO 12s. 6d. for ordinary parcels, and £lO 15s. for smaller lots. There are buyers at our quotations, bus. tne market is not so freely supplied. Wheat is easier. Sales are making at 4s. Sd. and 4s. BJd„ but uolhing vsry special has reached us. Oats are. still ver/unsatisfactory.; there is little inquiry privately. . lasmanian were disposed of by auction at 45., ana tne, Milton Badger's shipment of California!), comprising 2500 bushels, was cleared off at 3s. 2d. with all hurts, the sample being discolored and inferior, we understand that a parcel in sound'condition was taKcn up privately at a considerable improvement on tiiax price. Kerosene oil is a shade eastor again ; a. parcel of 375 cases Devoe's was sold at Is. M(l. A private telegram has been received in the city, dated »6th February, which states that kerosene in New York was strong and advancing, large speculative purchases having been made. Candles are firm: under the hammer some 2550 boxes Goudas, more or less faulty, were taken up in. one line at 10}. Wo understand that 5500 boxes of Brandon's and D.R.O.'s have also been placed within the last two or three days on jirivate terms. In liquids, we note sales of Henncssy's case brandy at 28s. Bd. on the wharf.
