AN ACKNOWLEDGMENT.
Sm,-Allow me to acknowledge in the columns of your paper the liberal manner in which I have been treated by the Victoria Insurance Co., through its agents in Wellington, Messrs. Levin and Co. On the occasion of the late Are on my premises, great exertions were made by those in the neighborhood, and considerable expense was incurred in stopping it from spreading. I submitted a claim to the agents of the above company, and they at once remitted me the sum of £.14 incidental expenses, as well as the amount for which their office was liable. I think this is worthy of public record, as it will encourage people to work at fires at considerable risk in places like this, where no organised fire brigades are in operation.—l am, &c, JOUN F. SCHULTZB. Bull's, Rangitikei, sth March.
