A trial of the market for new wools of Victorian clip was made during the November and December series, by offering 1500 bales. Greasy realised full values, purchases doubtless being made on foreign account, with a view of testing the normal kindred supplies available during the opening sales of the present year. Preserved meats in firm demand; mutton, slightly declined; beef, firm. New Zealand flax dropped £5 at the close of the year; , sales of 40 bales at £2O, and the balance was withdrawn.
