Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Wellington, as follows: — For Sydney, per s.s. Easby, this day, at II a.m. For Castle Point, Napier, and Poverty Bay, per s.s. Eangatira. this day, at 4 p.m. For Wanganui, per p.s. Manawatu, on Tuesday, at 4 p.m. For Blenheim, per Falcon, this day, at 2 p.m. For Blenheim, per p.s. Lyttelton, this day, at 4 p.m. For Nelson, Westport, Greymouth, Hokitika, and Australia, per s.s. Otago, this day, at 11 a.m. Edward D. Butts, Chief Postmaster. The steamer Otago is expected to leave Hokitika at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, the 9th instant. Telegrams for the Australian colonies or Europe via Java Cable, will be received at tho Wellington Telegraph Office for transmission to Melbourne up till 9 a.m. of the 9th instant.
