The death of one of the oldest inhabitants is referred to by the Goitliourn Advertiser, .which records the death of Mr. Donald Moßean, on last Friday, at the age of eighty-four. ‘ Mr. Moßean was one of the earliest settlers bn the banks of the Goulburn, he having.'taken- up a station at the old crossing place where Major Mitchell passed from bank to bank of the river in 1840. Mr. Mcßean had retired from active life for the past nine or ten years, and resided in Murchison, where he was highly respected. As an evidence of the paucity of Europeans in 1840 it may, be mentioned that the Mcßeans were eighteen months on their settlement before they saw a white woman.
