Crown Lands Office, Wellington, January 23, 1875. SALE OF GOVERNMENT LAND IN THE PROVINCE OF TARANAKI. The Waste Lands Board announce the first of a series of LAND SALES in the province of Taranaki, being 94 allotments of RURAL LAND, varying in area from 20 to 300 acres. A portion of these allotments to be sold on deferred payments, and the balance by auction, for cash. , This land is situate in the Moa Block, on the north-east side of Mount Egmont; and is first-class level, forest land, varying in character from scrub to heavy timber, such as rimu, kahikatea, rata, and tawa. The land is well watered by streams that never fail during the driest summer, and on many places there are available water-powers. The block is traversed by the Waitara-Wangauui Railway, now in course of construction ; and it is expected to be completed to the'township of Inglewood, at the commencement of the block, in about eighteen months. This line will render the land easily accessible from Waitara or New Plymouth. In the mean time a good road is being formed by the Provincial Government ; and the district roads will also be opened up a chain wide through the forest, so as to make each allotment accessible from the main line of railway, thus retaining a considerable proportion of the money derived from the sale of the land to the district in making local improvements. The land is well adapted to working settlers of small capital, as it is easily accessible, has abundance of timber for building, fencing, fuel, and shelter, never-failing streams of water, and a very productive soil. Plans of the allotments and schedules of area, and upset price, may be seen at the Crown Lands Office, where the Laud Regulations of the province may also he seen. The allotments of land set apart for selection on deferred payments will be open for selection to applicants or agent at the Waste Lands Office, New Plymouth, on the 13th February, at 10 a.m. The sale by auction will take place at the Odd Fellows’ Hall, New Plymouth, on SATURDAY, the 20th February, at 10 a.m. By order of the Board, C.
